CFA Australian GP preview

Ladies and Gentlemen:

Just a matter of hours now for the F1s to get to the track and this time is ‘for real’. This is a new chapter full of unknowns, and nobody including drivers and managers come to an agreement as how the racing itself will change from now on. As the season progresses the teams with the largest funds will develop their cars and the order will be restored, but for the Australian GP this Sunday everything looks possible! And one thing that will make (almost) every fan happy (so I hear) is that VET/Red Bull are not near the front. In fact principal Horner has said that Mercedes is going to ‘lap twice the entire field’...

This coming weekend the Australian GP will be underway and let’s face it: this is the most uncertain F1 season we’d ever encounter.

F1 / Temporada 2014 - Novedades técnicas

A escasas fechas del inicio de la temporada 2014, ha llegado el momento de hacer un repaso de las novedades técnicas que se verán en pista a partir del próximo fin de semana.

Tras una estabilidad que mantenía el reglamento técnico prácticamente invariable desde 2009, con su nueva reglamentación, la FIA ha introducido esta temporada la mayor revolución en la historia de la F1, dando entrada a una nueva generación de monoplazas con una motorización totalmente diferente, una aerodinámica profundamente modificada, una sustancial variación en las cajas de cambios y en las salidas de escape.

Parece interesante analizar cada una de estas modificaciones con mayor detenimiento.

Nueva motorización

Se trata, sin duda, del mayor cambio de esta temporada. Los V8 atmosféricos de 2,4 litros, que alcanzaban una potencia de 780 C.V. con su limitación de 18.000 r.p.m., son sustituidos por los nuevos V6 turbo de 1,6 litros que desarrollarán aproximadamente unos 600 C.V.; si bien ...
