It has emerged that Pirelli was looking for a 1.5 secs difference between compounds. The other half second was lost when all the teams found oversteer with the hard tires, the problem is that they don't last the 20 laps you need from them. Soft tires were good for 14 laps (both McLaren & RB) Things may change if the GP2 & GP3 cars rubber the track in by race time.
